Opened by HRH the Duke of York in 1989 this volunteer run museum has a unique collection of rare aircraft, many of which enjoy top benchmark status on the National Aviation Heritage Register. With more than 50 aircraft from all over the world you can see the worlds oldest, fastest and ugliest including the Russian Hind Gunship and Vietnam Veterans.
There is a wheelchair loan service and access to all areas; tour guides are available on request. Reserved parking is next to the entrance and there is ‘touch and feel’ access to most exhibits for the visually impaired. An advanced booking system is also available.
The friendly café ‘the Choppers Coffee Shop’ offers pilot’s size portions at economy prices along with a wide range of snacks, cakes and hot meals.
There is also a fully accessible gift shop for the helicopter enthusiast selling model kits, toys, books, clothing and other memorabilia – the only shop of its kind in the country.
See Weston from the air with a 6 – 8 minute sight-seeing pleasure flight from the museums own Heliport – it will give you an unique view of the local beaches, piers and on a good day Wales and the Severn Bridges - please phone for further details.
The main hangar offers a different setting for sales promotions, corporate parties, fashion shows and other business functions again fully accessible. If you call or e-mail with ideas the friendly staff will be only too pleased to be of assistance.
The Helicopter Museum is suitable for all the family there is play area for the children and a picnic area in which to relax.

Opening Times
Wednesdays - Fridays and every weekend throughout the year from 10am – 6pm (4pm November – March). Also open every day during Bank Holidays, Easter and Summer Holidays – come and go all day – just ask for a hand stamp when leaving to re-enter.
Situated just three miles from Weston Super Mare seafront on the A371 – from outside Weston head for Junction 21/M5 and follow the propeller on the brown signs – the museum is also sign posted from the A370 Bridgwater Road, Weston seafront and Locking Road.
