Old Dairy Cottage
The Sussex Downs provide a lovely backdrop for Canute Cottages, a group of four around an old farm courtyard, in a quiet setting on the edge of Chichester Harbour, within an area of outstanding natural beauty. 2 cottages are fully accessible ( see also entry for Granary Cottage). The beautiful pine furniture and the luxurious sofas and chairs, combined with a wealth of exposed beams, give the interior an air of grace and style, complemented by the beautifully maintained external courtyard and gardens. Parking is directly outside the very gentle ramped entrance. A Car-port and further parking in the courtyard. Wooden garden furniture with cushions.
The lovely Sussex barn, adjacent to the cottage, has been converted for recreational use and boasts a traditional skittle alley, table tennis, table football, basketball, and ride-on toys for toddlers. The adjoining games field provides space for football and other sports.
Attractions
Local attractions are many and varied, amongst them being the cathedral city of Chichester with its famous Festival Theatre, museums and art galleries, the Roman Palace at Fishbourne, Glorious Goodwood, Arundel, and Portsmouth with its historic ships.
Additional Information
The views up to the old fishing port of Bosham, or down towards the harbour entrance and the Isle of Wight are spectacular. Artists love to come here to paint. For walkers and birdwatchers there are footpaths extending around the harbour. Cobnor is a friendly hamlet, and residents are justifiably proud of the accessible footpath along the sea wall which offers unrivalled views of the harbour. Get afloat on the Harbour in an accessible solar-powered boat.
There is a separate accessible laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier.
