About Us
Established in 1981, Wheelchair Travel is now recognised as the UK market leader in its field. Based just 28 miles from central London; 25 miles from London Gatwick and 20 miles from London Heathrow we offer an unrivalled service to travellers who are mobility impaired. Our clients come from all over the world, and we undertake work from such companies as Cunard, Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruises, P&0, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.
Our service is aimed at the disabled solo traveller, or small group, who want to plan their itinerary and "do their own thing". If you wish to travel in an organised large group on a fixed pre-planned itinerary, then our service is not for you.

Here at Wheelchair Travel we provide a unique service, solving the private transport needs of disabled people either resident in, or visiting the UK from overseas. We offer adapted vehicles on self-drive rental to either carry or be driven by a disabled person.
Full services including chauffeur and guide may also be provided if required.
Taxi service
For those clients wanting just a set journey who are unable to drive, or it is impractical to rent on a self drive basis, use our taxi service. Prices are calculated on time and/or distance and we are happy to take you anywhere in the UK.
Meet and Greet
For those clients who do not wish to drive themselves and require the freedom to sit back and have someone else do the driving, navigating and the talking, we offer a meet and greet service to transport you and your group from the airport, rail or ship terminal to your hotel and vice versa. We can provide tours of London, from a quick two hour overview and photo stop, to a detailed eight hours (or longer) in-depth stop and visit. Other cities can be visited using London as a base, and local guide when we arrive at our destination.
Rear-Access single wheelchair vehicles
These are small vehicles, based on the Fiat Doblo, designed for just one wheelchair user, driver and one or two passengers, with limited space for luggage. These are not recommended for non UK nationals as they are small and not automatic. They are 14' long and 7' high with an internal headroom of 4' 11". Access is by a full-width folding ramp. Wheelchair securing uses the same webbing system as the vans described in Minibus hire.Accessibility Features
