Nestled in the peaceful village of Tunstall in Richmondshire with pretty countryside views, Clover Cottage has been beautifully renovated with great attention to detail, to provide contemporary accommodation on one level.
Conveniently located just a few minutes drive from the picturesque market town of Richmond, with its famous castle, Georgian theatre and vast range of cafes, shops and pubs, the cottage is perfectly situated to ensure that all its guests have a relaxing holiday in this idyllic location.
This disabled friendly holiday cottage in North Yorkshire is owned by Edenís Retreats, a family owned company, committed to providing the best possible accommodation and facilities for people with or without restricted mobility.
The main priority when renovating Clover Cottage was to provide high quality accommodation with accessibility for all. In particular to take into consideration the needs of wheelchair users.
Having over forty years combined experience in the health care industry and a road traffic accident resulting in disability, the owners fully understand and appreciate the needs of those who are less mobile. Their aim is to provide guests and carers with a range of equipment to make their stay as easy as possible.
Bedroom One - a twin room providing a variety of options. The room can offer a single bed together with specialist electric profiling bed, two specialist electric profiling beds or simply two twin divan beds. A ceiling track system has been installed in this room to allow handling assistance and transferring into the Wet-room facility. If the system is not required it will be disconnected before arrival. There is also a 32 inch freeview wall mounted television. A guest bed may be provided suitable for additional guests.
Bedroom Two - a spacious room consisting of built in wardrobes, kingsize bed, dressing table, and bedside table. Another 32 inch wall mounted freeview television is provided.
A spacious area with two large settees and additional seating, a log burning fire, 48 inch flat screen television with freeview package, DVD player, cabinet and sideboard containing a wide variety of games, DVDs and books for all the family. Patio doors lead to the large decking area and back garden.
Clover Cottage has two en-suite bathrooms:
The En-suite Wetroom - a modern, spacious wetroom consisting of a shower, toilet with optional assist handles and twin basins, one particularly for wheelchair users. A mobile shower chair can be supplied too. A ceiling track system is installed to enable assisted bathing. This may be disconnected if not required.
An additional en-suite with shower cubicle, basin, toilet and electric towel rail.
A large kitchen and diner with dining table and chairs, washer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, two cookers, two hobs, large extractor and a variety of units containing a wide variety of kitchen crockery and utensils.
The property has a garage and allocated parking space. To the front of the property is a courtyard with a seating area, a paved footpath leads to a ramp at the front entrance. To the rear of the property is a large decking leading onto a small grassed area with barbecue with views of open countryside. Access is available to a three acre paddock for anyone wishing to bring dogs. The paddock is shared and dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Recommended Visitor Attractions:
Families will find a wide variety of places to visit, such as Thorp Perrow Aboretum with bird of prey centre and Lightwater Valley Theme Park both with full disabled access and mobility scooter hire. For the younger guests there is a huge array of entertainments within the local area, including cinemas, theme park, leisure centres, soft play areas and bowling. The Wensleydale Railway steam train is a great experience for families, followed by a trip to the local ice cream parlour.
Catterick Saddle Club has excellent facilities for disabled riders, whilst Parklands Fishing Lakes offers a more tranquil activity with good disabled access on the pegs, disabled toilets and cafe on site.
There is a wealth of local heritage in the vicinity, including Richmond Castle, Richmond Georgian Theatre, Fountains Abbey and Ripon Cathedral.
A wide range of shops are available nearby, a 24 hour Tesco superstore is a five minute drive away, along with the Co op, Lidl and Aldi. The town of Darlington offers a large variety of shops normally found in most shopping centres, including House of Fraser, Marks & Spencer and Next.
Food & Dining:
There is a wide range of takeaway menus in the visitor pack with many offering a delivery service, together with a delivery service from the local farm shop and cafe. Within a ten minute drive are many restaurants with a variety of cuisines to choose from including, Italian, English, Indian, Chinese, Portugese and German.
