Reviews for The Retreat
We were a party of four adults coming from the US, one of whom uses a wheelchair and a walker. Our focus was on family history in Somerset. On the web, the house looked perfect. It is! Our daughter found the house competely accessible, both inside and out. We all felt equal in our enjoyment of the sheep, pheasant, skies, and surrounding hedgerows and pastures, not to mention the kitchen, open living room, bedrooms and bathrooms. The long, narrow drive down from the road was a surprise but totally doable. Our host was warm, welcoming, and made us feel completely at home. The house is located away from other residences so we felt completely on our own, but could readily walk down to our host's home if needed. We have rented many houses, in many countries, and we can heartily recommend this house.

Wow! What a beautiful place to stay. From the moment we arrived we felt totally relaxed, in this light, clean and modern home. It has been thoughtfully designed, is well equipped and very spacious. The secluded location is stunning, surrounded by woodland, and safe for our children and dog to enjoy freedom to roam. There are plenty of lovely places to explore locally and the Retreat was always fabulous to return to each day, where we enjoyed undisturbed peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings.......we will definitely be returning :)

Loved it! Every attention to detail, no expense spared & the views/ surroundings idyllic! Although very lucky with the weather I'm sure this place would be outstanding in all climates! The owner helpful but certainly Not intrusive. Fantastic will be back. Thank you for a great week in a slice of heaven!
