About Us
Barncrosh nestles in the rolling Galloway Hills, easily accessible by road yet remarkably quiet and peaceful.
Accommodation at Barncrosh has been developed over the years as we renovated the houses, cottages and the old farm steading and courtyard. We now offer a wide choice of styles and sizes of comfortable holiday homes.
Three of our properties have been specially adapted to cater to the needs of disabled visitors. Here we'll focus on 'Screel', the largest of our disabled friendly cottages.
Screel is spacious and equipped to an exceptionally high standard and enjoys glorious views of the surrounding farmland and countryside. It has assisted wheelchair access.
Bedrooms
On the ground floor there are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, while there is a double bedroom and a bedroom with three single beds.Living Area
An entrance hall with hardwood floor leads into a very spacious sitting/dining room with wood-burning fire.Bathrooms
There is a large bathroom with bath and roll in shower on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a shower room with WC.Kitchen
Screel has a fitted kitchen with electric cooker and dishwasher.Gardens

Attractions
Barncrosh is your gateway to Galloway, where the very best of Scotland's countryside is on your doorstep, from rolling hills and fine forests and lochs, to sandy beaches and a spectacular coastline. Gardens here are special, with gems like nearby Threave and the Logan Botanic Gardens near Stranraer. Palm trees and many other exotic plants thrive under the warming influence of the Gulf Stream.
Our roads are quiet and a pleasure to drive along. The nearby A712 Queens Way tourist route takes you through the heart of the Galloway Forest Park, past a red deer range, wild goat park and red squirrel feeding stations. Buzzards are a common sight and you may be lucky enough to see golden eagles and red kites, too.
Shops, pubs and restaurants are within easy reach. Enjoy exploring our picturesque towns and villages, like Castle Douglas Food Town (only four miles away), Kirkcudbright Artists Town (five miles) and Wigtown Book Town (36 miles). People are friendly and welcoming, with plenty of time to speak to you. Additional Information
