About Us
Bidwell Farm and its two 5 star cottages sit within the Blackdown Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - just two minutes away from the sleepy, Domesday agricultural village of Up-Ottery. The River Otter which gives its name to the village, meanders and sparkles through this pretty valley and, yes, the otters are back!
The Cow Byre was recently converted into an award winning disabled friendly cottage with three large, comfortable double bedrooms all en suite - one ground floor twin-bedded, one lower ground with a 6 ft bed that can convert to twin if requested and one upstairs double.
The Byre is a delightful mix of traditional and modern, with beams and wood burning stove but enjoys a contemporary open plan living/dining area with large wall mounted television and Sky programmes. Bedrooms
Bedrooms are situated on three levels. The wheelchair accessible bedroom is on the ground floor. There is level entry from the kitchen/living area to the twin bedroom. Bathrooms
There is level access from the carpeted bedroom into its en suite wet-room (which measures 2.3 m x 2.5 m) The door entry width is 87mm hinged left and opening into the wet-room. There is a contrast of colour from the carpet of the bedroom to the tiled floor of the wet room.
In the wet room, the height of the wash-basin is 84mm. The lavatory is at 42mm, the flush mechanism at 82mm and the loo-roll dispenser at 44mm. The lowest shower position is 170mm and there are presently no supporting facilities in the shower area. There is a strong grab rail at waist level under the shower.
