About Us

The Theatre Royal Bath opened in November of 1805. Set right in the heart of the Georgian City of Bath, it is one of the oldest working theatres in the country, and is possibly the most haunted. The theatre stages ballets, operas, West End shows and pantomimes, and there is sure to be something to suit all the family for a lovely evening out.

Additional Information

There is a gentle ramp leading to the main foyer where you be welcomed by the Front of House Manager, John Butler, who will be only too pleased to be of assistance. Access to the Royal Circle where there are wheelchair spaces is via a stair lift (minimum width 70cms), on this level there is an accessible bar area, for pre show drinks, it has double doors and offers good manoeuvrability.

There are also spaces in the stalls, which may be more suited to a wider wheelchair. The entrance to the stalls is via the Beaufort Square entrance – please telephone for further details.

Wheelchair accessible toilets are to be found in the Royal Circle and Stall areas.

Both Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs are welcome, and the staff are happy to look after them by prior arrangement. Large print and Braille plans are available at the Box Office, and audio taped versions of the seasonal brochure are available on request. A Sennheiser Infra-red Audio System is available. Headsets may be reserved in advance. The theatre presents signed and described performances in the Main House and signed performances in the Ustinov Studio - more details can be obtained from the Box Office.

Wheelchair spaces are available for all productions at £7.50 each and the accompanying person pays half of the full ticket price.

There is designated parking directly outside the theatre. Alternatively orange/blue badge holders can park for free in any public car park in Bath (not just in a designated disabled space), or for free in any ordinary designated on-street parking space. Badge holders may also park for free for up to three hours on single or double yellow lines (as long as they are not causing an obstruction).

In order that the helpful staff at the theatre may give you as warm a welcome as possible, please advise them in advance of any special needs. The Box Office staff will be happy to help in any way they can and to offer advice at the time of booking.

Tickets may be booked on the minicom 01225 329689. If you have any further queries about the facilities available contact Ann Meddings, Customer Services Manager on 01225 448815, extension 476 or by letter to the theatre. There is also direct access from this page to the Theatre Royal's web site.
